Arias on Ice

A new concept in operatic entertainment.

Following the success of the Arias On Ice performance at the open-air ice rink at Canary Wharf in February 2007, and the subsequent national TV coverage shown on Channel 4 in April and June, we have now extended the production to tour this Christmas, with visits to the ice rinks at Somerset House, Isle Of White, Peterborough and Oxford.

This new concept is designed to not only appeal to opera lovers, but for the opportunity it provides for people who enjoy ice to now see and be entertained by this exciting new collaborati on of creative art forms. Well known arias and duets from popular operas present flirtations on the Venetian waterways, elegant frivolities and beautiful atmospheric arias combined with exquisite moves by choreographed ice skaters provide a delightful vehicle for some of the most captivating music ever written. Music Director Lyndall Dawson accompanies the talented cast of singers and ice skaters on a grand piano, positioned on the ice.

Opera Anywhere's 'Arias On Ice' has proved to be a great corporate event, our Christmas 07 season started with a performance in fine style at Somerset House, our team of operatic singers were accompanied by champion skaters Kirsty Lanterman of Ginger-Cat productions who also choreographed the event. Kirsty was joined by British Senior Ice Dance team Louise Walden and Owen Edwards, who the day after the Somerset House performance became the 2007 Welsh National Ice Dance Champions!
